Jannabeth, owner/director, is a life long resident of Dinwiddie County.  She graduated from Dinwiddie High School in 2003.  She continued her education and graduated from Richard Bland College with an Associates of Arts Degree and attended Virginia Commonwealth University, and is married to Matthew W. Cunningham.

Jannabeth has studied dance for twenty-two years and taught ballet, tap and jazz for 10 years.  She has studied under Charles Kelly, Frank Hatchett, Savion Glover, Ted Levy, Barry Youngblood, and Bill Hoctor, just to name a few New York professional dancers.  She is also the founder of Dinwiddie High School's General Xplosion Dance Team and is presently coach and choreographer for the team.

Jannabeth has many titles and awards.  She has danced at Walt Disney World, Kings Dominion and Dogwood Dell.  She has been a member of prestigious competition teams and has won titles including Grand Natioanl Champion in Production, Grand National Champion in Jazz and Best in Show, Ballet, High Point Award in Lyrical Ballet, and High Point Award in Ballet Divisions.  She has won over 150 Platinum, Gold and Silver Awards of Accomplishments.

Jannabeth has studied with many competition tours such as:  Dance Educators of America, Dance Makers, Inc., Dance Masters of America, Dance Troupe, Dance Caravan, Manhattan Dance Project, Starquest, Inc., Dance Makers, Inc. and Hollywood Vibe Companies.

Jannabeth established Sparkling Stars Dance Competition Company in November 2007.  Sparkling Stars Dance Company has won over 75 medals and awards of accomplishment in ballet, lyrical, jazz, tap and production in regional and national competition companies such as: Dance Caravan, Dance Makers, Inc, Dance Troupe International and Starquest International.  

Jannabeth has passion and love for the art of dance.  She loves to share this art with children and adults, knowing that movement, integrity, honesty, and grace are characteristics of good citizens of the future.

Fredaerick Wilkerson is a resident of Dinwiddie County, and widely known as Daerick, is a veteran instructor for Starlight Studios, bringing a refreshing spirit and commitment to the art of dance.  Upon entering Virginia Commonwealth University to pursue a B.S. in Marketing, he unexpectedly turned his hobby into a second career.  As a hip-hop dancer in the city of Richmond, Daerick has been privileged to display his natural talent to the world.

While dancing with 4 The Streetz Choreography and Urban Eyes Dance Co., Wilkerson found himself opening up for major entertainment industry stars such as John Legend, The Roots and more.  Daerick has also perofrmed in many well known local events such as "VA Day," VCU's annual "STRUT" fashion show, and many other talent showcases and comeptitions.

Fredaerick brings to his students the passion and love for dance.  He is relentless in achieving the best from all students. His students have won many prestigious Gold awards at Beyond the Stars, Dancers, Inc. and Dance Troupe International.

He coaches Sparklin Stars Competition Team and brings a fresh approach to competition and sportsmanship.

Sarah has been dancing since she was 3 and holds a master's degree from Old Dominion University in Early Childhood Education and is in year 2 teaching for Starlight.  Sarah is a life long resident of Dinwiddie County and is married to Bret Martin. 

She has competed many years with such companies as Dance Caravan, Dance Makers, Inc, and Dancers, Inc. Sarah has studied under Janice Baringer, Daryl Reitter, Tommy Alexander, just to name a few of New York's best choreographers and teachers. 

She teaches tap, jazz and musical theatre for Starlight Studios.  She is a winning coach for the winning Sparklin Stars Competition Team

Megan is a life-long resident of Dinwiddie County and has danced for 19 years.  She graduated from Dinwiddie High School and Radford University.  She is a graduate student at Longwood University persuing a master's degree in speech pathology.  Megan began dancing at 3 years old and when at Radford began to study clogging, a form of tap, her favorite genre.  She was a part of a clogging team for four years while at Radford.  Megan has passion for life as well as dance.  She dances as though it will be her last and teaches relentlessly to children who want movement and fun.  Her goal is for children to get off the couch and get moving. 

She has studied under some of New York's most successful dance teachers and has attended conventions on tour such as Dance Caravan, Dance Maker, Inc. and Hollywood Vibe.  We are so happy to have Megan teach clogging for her second season at Starlight Dance Studios.

Taylor LaPrade, is a life-long resident of Dinwiddie, County.  She has studied dance 15 years, including ballet, tap, jazz, pointe, theatre dance and hip hop.  Taylor is a senior at Dinwiddie High School, where she is a member of the General Xplosion Dance Team, Softball Team, Teacher Cadet and 100 Milers Outreach Club.  She has worked with Special Olympics on the regional level and performed in The Nutcracker Ballet with Starlight Studios. 

Taylor has studied under New York Professional Companies, such as: Dance Caravan and StarQuest International, Dance Makers, Inc and Dance Troupe International, where she received gold awards in tap, ballet, and jazz. She is currently teaches ballet and tap. She has won many Gold awards with Beyond the Stars Competition and Dance Troupe International.  She teaches Combination classes and Tap classes. 

Taylor is an inspiration and mentor for all of our dancers.

Meredith is beginning her third year teaching for Starlight Studios.  Meredith is a junior at Dinwiddie High School, where she is a member of DHS JV Softball team.   She has danced 14 years and has many awards and accomplishments.  She has studied with Dance Caravan, Dance Troupe International and Dance Makers, Inc.  She continues to study the art of dance through conventions, competitions and continuing her education at Starlight Studios and Dance Company.  She has many awards and accomplishments.  

Meredith has been choosen as  a Youth Ambassador for Dance Troupe International,  a highly acclaimed honor which was choosen on her merit, character, morals, values, and dance talent.  She carries those talents to her students and is a role model for all younger students.
