Jannabeth Cunningham

Jannabeth is a life long resident of Dinwiddie County. She graduated from Dinwiddie High School in 2003.  She  her education and graduated from Richard Bland  College with an  Associates of Arts Degree and attended Virginia Commonwealth University.  Jannabeth has studied dance for twenty –one years and taught ballet, tap and jazz for 8 years.  She has studied under Charles Kelly, Frank Hatchett, Savion Glover, Ted Levy, Barry Youndblood, and Bill Hoctor, just to name a few New York professional dancers.  She is also instrumental in founding Dinwiddie High School’s General Xplosion Dance Team and is presently coach and choreographer for the team.

Jannabeth has many titles and awards.  She has danced at Walt Disney World, King’s Dominion, and Dogwood Dell.  She has been a member of prestigious competition teams and has won titles including Grand National   Champion in Production, Grand National Champion in Jazz and Best in Show, Ballet, High Point Award in   Lyrical Ballet, and High Point Award in Ballet Divisions.  She has won over 150 Platinum, Gold, and Silver Awards of Accomplishments.

Jannabeth has studied with many competition tours such as: Dance Educators of America, Dance Makers, Inc, Dance Masters of America, Dance Troupe, Dance Caravan, Manhattan Dance Project, Starquest, Inc. and Hollywood Vibe Companies.

Sparkling Starlight Stars Dance Company was established in the fall of 2007.  

Jannabeth has passion and love for the art of dance.  She loves to share this art with children and adults, knowing that movement, integrity, honesty, and grace are characteristics of good citizens of the future.

 


Sarah Martin

Sarah is a lifelong resident of Dinwiddie County.  She graduated from Dinwiddie High School in 2001.  She continued her education at Old Dominion University receiving a Master’s Degree in Childhood Education.  Sarah has studied dance for twenty years and has studied under Charles Kelly, Frank Hatchett, and Barry Youndblood to name a few.  Sarah has found dance to be her second career and is very successful with her students.  Sarah works with the Junior Sparkling Stars and teaches tap and jazz. We are proud to have Sarah as a part of Starlight Studios’ faculty.

 


Fredaerick Wilkerson

Fredaerick is a life-long resident of Dinwiddie County, and widely known as Daerick, has come to join the staff of Starlight Studios with a refreshing spirit and commitment to the art of dance.

Upon entering Virginia Commonwealth University to pursue a   B.S. in Marketing, he unexpectedly turned his hobby into a second career. As a hip-hop dancer in the city o f Richmond, Daerick has been privileged to display his natural talent to the world.

While dancing with 4 The Streetz Choreography and Urban Eyes Dance Co., Wilkerson found himself opening up for major entertainment industry stars such as John Legend, The Roots and more. Daerick has also performed in many well know local events such as “VA Day,” VCU’s annual “STRUT” fashion show, and many other talent showcases and competitions.

Fredaerick also teaches Sparkling Stars Competition Team.

 


Lauren Reed

Lauren is a  resident of Dinwiddie County where she was raised.  She has danced since she was 2 years old and has been successful in many competitions and received many top honors.  She is relentless in her study of dance and teaching.  Her choreography is amazing and inspiring.  We are proud to have one of our own students come back to join our faculty as a choreographer and teacher. Lauren graduated from Kenston Forrest School in Blackstone, Va. And is currently a student at Richard Bland College.
